TEHRAN -- Twenty short animations by female Iranian directors will be screened during a two-day festival, which will open at the Södran Cinema of the Mejeriet Cultural Center in the Swedish city of Lund Wednesday.

The Iran and Sweden Cultural Exchange Association (ISCEA) has organized the festival entitled Iranian Animation Nights in Sweden in collaboration with Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA).

Among the animations are “Man, Idol, Cat” by Mahnaz Yazdani, “The Role of Each Fret” by Maryam Farahzadi, “The Fan” by Fatemeh Sohani, “The Kitten” by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi and “White Pigeon Next to the Mirror” by Maryam Khalilzadeh.

The festival will be held under the auspices of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Lund University.

The ISCEA was established in Stockholm in 2014 to help cultural communities in the two countries to learn more about each other.
